Lake Chaparral, Chaparral Ridge, Chaparral Ravine, and Chaparral Valley make up Chaparral.

Lake Chaparral is a man-made lake with two water falls.  It is stocked each year with trout for fishing in the summer and ice-fishing in the winter.  It has a beautiful sand beach. It is a great lake to swim in on hot summer days.  Various non-motorized boats are available at the boathouse, even paddleboards.

The beach house is available for booking parties and many programs such as dance and yoga are available. 

The park also has tennis courts and a beach volleyball court.  Tennis lessons are available, our children have enjoyed many summers of tennis lessons at Lake Chaparral. Lake Chaparral - Calgary Academy of Tennis are open to the public.

Each summer the Alberta Triathlon Association runs the Lake Chaparral Triathlon at Lake Chaparral, an event that is open to all ages and abilities.  A great event to get kids started and for adults to give the sport a try.  

Chaparral is a great community to raise a family.  Many bike paths run throughout the community and into Fish Creek Park. Several green spaces and play parks in the community provide great places to gather and play. Both a Catholic elementary school and a Public elementary school (both K-6) are right in the community.  In addition, many bussing options provide children with school choices - Montessori, Spanish, French, Art, Science, etc.
